General Information about RWSS Sri Lanka
Schemes constructed under Water Supply and Sanitation Project (WaSSIP) and Community Based Organization Managed Schemes. WaSSIP Schemes are marked as Blue Lines and CBO Schemes are marked as points. (Further info refer legend of the Map)
Interacted Voice Calls Survey - Results
This Dashboard displays the current perceptions of the beneficiaries on the adequacy of water supplied from the respective WS systems based on IVR Survey, carried out using interactive pre-recorded calls. The officers of the agency concerned could screen out details of CBOs reported as not ensuring adequate water supply & facilitate and advise CBOs to improve and ensure water availability to the consumers.
This Dashboard displays the current perceptions of the beneficiaries on the Quality of water supplied from the respective WS systems based on IVR Survey, carried out using interactive pre-recorded calls. The officers of the agency concerned could screen out details of CBOs reported as not ensuring the quality of water supplied & facilitate and advise such CBOs to improve and ensure good quality water availability to the consumers.
This Dashboard displays the current perceptions of the beneficiaries on how satisfied they are with the water services provided by the CBO from the respective WS systems based on IVR Survey, carried out using interactive pre-recorded calls. The officers of the relevant and / or responsible authorities could screen out details of WS systems of which the consumers are reportedly not satisfied with and provide advice and assistance to the respective CBOs to improve and ensure good quality services to the consumers.
This dashboard enables the relevant and / or responsible authorities and Planners to identify and screen the WS Systems by size to address pertinent needs and requirements more effectively and efficiently. For an example, planning & implementation of capacity building / skill development programmes cannot be handled in a single plane, as the scale of intervention, strategies and methodology differs according to the size of a WS system.
With this tool one could screen the water schemes under different age groups. This would enable Practitioners to acquire data from RWS systems implemented during different periods of time and to utilize the lessons learned in planning & implementation of new systems. Researchers could utilize this dashboard to gather information on Social, Technical, Managerial and Institutional aspects pertaining to CBO managed WS systems and in general to learn the process of evolution of the sector over the years.
This dashboard enables the sector agencies concerned to have an overview on women’s involvement in decision making positions within the community The relevant and / or responsible agency for the RWS sector could screen out CBOs where there is less or no women’s involvement at the decision making level and to initiate remedial measures to promote and propagate gender sensitiveness to improve the situation.
This dashboard facilitates the relevant and / or responsible agency to identify those CBOs / WS systems that are not operational. They could then diagnose the issues leading to their non-operational status and plan required interventions for operationalizing them.
This Dashboard screens and displays Gravity and Pumped WS systems. This dashboard facilitates the relevant and / or responsible agency to identify the specific needs of the CBOs / WS systems of the two categories and plan the required type of training and skills development. Guidelines & Caretaker manuals etc., required for different types of schemes can thus be developed and disseminated.
This dashboard projects the financial management potential of the CBOs. It also facilitates the relevant and /or responsible agencies to screen out the CBOs with inadequate or no financial management skills and plan interventions as required.
Gaps & Issues
The relevant and /or responsible agency could focus on the different issues categories and plan appropriate common intervention strategies which may constitute a combination of the following pertaining to the issues concerned.
This Dashboard enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to get a distribution of interventions required by the various groups of CBOs. The agency can identify areas where there are no limitations to bring immediate solutions to some of the Required Interventions and are within their capacity. Agency could also identify Interventions that require minimal financial commitments and which could be attended as an immediate priority.
Service Related KPIs
This Dashboard displays the grouping of CBOs according to the varying levels of service provision from their WS systems. This Dashboard enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to get a clear perception and the opportunity to identify, the CBOs with WS systems needing immediate and urgent intervention, in improving the offered service levels, through advice and other required inputs in order to improve the situation.
This Dashboard displays the degree of reliability of the water sources. This Dashboard enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to screen out the CBOs / WS systems with inadequate water sources needing intervention.
Water Quality Perception & Treatment
Water Safety Plan
This dashboard displays the billing and collection efficiencies of the various CBOs. It enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to screen out the CBOs / WS systems with lower collection efficiencies and to work towards improving the situation through appropriate financial management training and guidance.
This Dashboard displays the operational viability of CBOs. While appreciating good performers the other categories need to be guided and assisted to improve their operational viability via financial training.
This Infographic displays the grouping of CBOs / WS Systems with different types of sources. This enables the Planners to get an idea of the occurrence of the various water sources in different localities /DS divisions and use the information in their WS intervention planning.
Type of Reservoir displays the groupings of the CBOs/WS Systems with ground level and elevated reservoirs. This enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to plan for, and arrange to introduce and guide the CBOs on maintenance and repair practices specific for each type of reservoir.
Homesteads in close vicinity, household pit latrines, home gardens, solid waste, personal washing and bathing, open air defecation, animal pens, waste water intrusions are some of the main sources of contaminants that can adversely affect a water source harnessed for a drinking water supply system.
